Symplast, a software leader in Practice Management and Electronic Health Records for Plastics, Aesthetics and Medspas seeks addition of a talented instructional designer who can help us transform the client educational experience at Symplast.
Job Description
As part of the Client Services and Education team, the Instructional Designer will have a strong understanding of instructional design models that produce impactful, measurable results, such as increased client engagement and improved retention. In this role, the Instructional Designer will design, build and create a variety of instructional materials such as e-learning modules, video tutorials, digital job aids, and other educational materials to support our practice partners.
Design and Development
Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create engaging and effective education and adoption content and experiences
Ensure content and experiences are learner-centric, interactive and aligned with objectives
Create templates with design tools to ensure compliance with branding and modern design standards
Content Creation
Design and create various forms of educational and adopt content that provides users with ample opportunity to learn; considering roles/personas, use case, levels of experience and technical ability
Develop learning content to be presented in various formats like text, video, simulations to meet the needs of the various end user learning styles
Document new product features; user guides, integration guides, API specifications, etc
Assessment and Evaluation
Develop and implement assessments and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning materials and identify areas for improvement
Collaboration
Work closely with product team and customer facing teams to gather feedback and drive insights on content organization and delivery
Collaborate closely with the product teams to understand upcoming features and releases to capture the value
LMS Responsibilities
Publish, Update, and Organize content within the LMS
Manager the userbase, and assignments
Establish best practices and standards for LMS administration
Document LMS process and provide internal education
Be a Subject Matter Expert for the LMS

Travel Requirements
Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
BA/BS required or 5 years of relevant industry experience
Experience designing, planning, and delivering content projects
Experience working on or closely with software development teams
Ability to take technical concepts and translate to User Friendly Material
Excellent Writing Skills
Experience using learning content creation tools, office productivity suite, wiki, online learning tools, or comparable software products
Dynamic professional with experience in one or more of the following areas: technical writing, instructional design, adult-learning or content design and development
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1B status)
