Washington County's Land Use & Transportation is now hiring an Inspection Supervisor to join the Capital Project Services Division!
The Position
The Inspection Supervisor plans, coordinates, and supervises the inspection of roadways, signing and striping, traffic signals, ITS systems, bridges, drainage, and utility construction within the Department of Land Use and Transportation. This includes reviewing, understanding, and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications. This position also defines and coordinates work on construction projects. Additionally, the Inspection Supervisor has broad supervisory responsibilities over Engineering Technicians. The incumbent is responsible for assigning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the work of technical staff; resolving personnel issues; completing performance evaluations; and participating in recruitments.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and confidence to be a leader and a mentor on Washington County capital construction projects. The candidate should have knowledge of various aspects of major road construction, multi-span bridges, complex retaining walls, traffic signal installation, ADA standards and underground utility installations. The ideal candidate can read, understand, and interpret complex construction plans, and specifications, and be able to supervise engineering technicians.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
An associate degree in Civil Engineering or related field AND two (2) years of experience in road or bridge construction, inspection, maintenance management, and/or design review which includes overseeing inspection personnel. OR
Four (4) years of experience in road or bridge construction, inspection, maintenance management, and/or design review which includes overseeing inspection personnel.
