Role Overview
Insights Directors at Escalent lead the development of insights and storytelling and own the design, execution, data analysis and reporting phases of our work.
At Escalent, the Insights Director is a senior-level project role that helps the Sector leader fulfill on the objectives for projects while maintaining strong client relationships. Depending on the account team’s size and needs, this role will be expected to take the lead on day-to-day project related decisions and client correspondence. Insights Directors contribute to client retention and growth through consistent responsiveness and delivery of high-quality insights.
Insights Positions Are Accountable For
Presenting insights that address the client or industry’s needs.
Experience with and proper application of analytical techniques & tools (e.g., SPSS, etc.)
Strong background and interest in quantitative research involving complex topics and in-depth data analysis
Independently creating client-ready materials on time
Sound process & integrity of insights
Effectively working independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities
Research Execution:
Direct and oversee all aspects of large-scale quantitative engagements, both domestically and globally, from inception to fruition. Responsibilities for this role Include developing custom questionnaires, troubleshooting fieldwork issues, developing SPSS syntax for data quality checking, tabulation plan, leading client meetings, crafting in-depth analysis/reports and delivering compelling and visually appealing presentations to clients.
Quickly develop rapport with clients and cultivate robust client relationships through adept management of expectations, adherence to timelines, proactive communication of project progress, problem-solving techniques, and strategic guidance in client implications and decision-making.
Effectively leverage a variety of methods and tools by collaborating with experts across Escalent, including our Centers of Excellence like Marketing & Data Sciences for advanced analytics, our Qualitative team, Syndicated & Javelin practices, or external partners in Behavioral Science, etc.
Identify execution efficiencies and process improvements internally to optimize project profitability, deliverable quality, and team productivity.
Independently learn new therapeutic areas and confidently converse in patient and HCP vernacular
Insights And Storytelling
Lead the development of insights and storytelling and own the data analysis and reporting phases of our work.
Partner with clients to present findings in a way that is impactful to client’s stakeholders.
Synthesize insights across studies and indications, as applicable, to provide unique perspective and actionable direction to clients.
Work closely with your fellow team members in other Insights roles, in Project Management positions and Sales & Strategic Growth roles in delivering our solutions in a high-quality manner.

Coaching & Mentoring
As you gain understanding of the nuances of the types of projects (methodologies), a particular client, the industry (or industries), and Escalent solutions, you offer consultative guidance to clients and colleagues.
Coach junior staff on interpretation/synthesis of results, storytelling, client-centric servicing model and problem-solving, etc. to help them develop their skills in research methodology, client management, and elevation of findings to actionable insights.
Develop training materials, as needed, to help junior staff learn or enhance their skills and performance.

Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor degree in health, life sciences, market research or other related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of related experience within the life sciences industry or sector with recent experience managing studies from start to finish
Considered “Highly skilled” in analytics functional skillset
Breadth of research methodology expertise & experience including survey / instrument design, advanced analytics such as conjoint, MaxDiff, etc.
Data analysis software (e.g. SPSS, Excel, etc.)
Able to distill findings into meaningful insights
Formation of story architecture
Highly skilled in all aspects of Reporting (deliverables)
Prescriptive / Consultative Writing skills – reports and client communications
Data viz / PPT / Excel
Autonomous report design / analysis plan
Strong presentation and storytelling abilities
Ability to effectively lead project insights team
Ability to manage several client engagements concurrently.
Ability to contribute to research design and/or proposal writing
High degree of professionalism & situational awareness (particularly related to client interactions)
Highly collaborative, capable of getting others across the organization to collaborate
