- Install, maintain, and repair large and complex HVAC systems used in commercial buildings like offices, schools, hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues involving various equipment like chillers, boilers, air handling units, building automation systems, and rooftop units
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency
- Conduct comprehensive system inspections and identify potential problems before they arise
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of service calls, repairs, and system performance
- Provide excellent customer service to building owners and managers, explaining issues, recommending solutions, and ensuring their satisfaction
- Adhere to all safety regulations and codes specific to the commercial HVAC industry
- May be responsible for training junior technicians
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an HVAC technician program with a focus on commercial systems
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working on commercial HVAC systems
- Must be able to work on call rotation on the weekends
- Must pass HAIR follicle test
- Must pass BACKGROUND check
- TWIC (Transportation workers identification certificate.)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration, electrical systems, and building automation controls
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with customers and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- EPA 608 certification and knowledge of relevant building codes are highly preferred
- Experience with specific types of commercial HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, VRF systems, building automation platforms)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with complex electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with brazing, welding, and other metalworking skills
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and building automation protocols
