Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety, science, engineering or related discipline or 10+ years of direct industry experience in a HSE role.
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting working in a Health, Safety & Environmental Role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence team members in a positive manner that instills change and maintains safety policies.
  • Proven comprehensive knowledge of US occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Detailed understanding of general industry standards and knowledge of basic health and safety concepts such as hazard & risk assessment, behavior-based safety, machine / equipment safety etc.
  • DOT Hazardous Waste Manifest/ RCRA.
  • Professional EHS certification is preferred.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Creating, Implementing, and monitoring safe working techniques and reinforcing the safety policies, guidelines and procedures, and providing daily guidance and direction in EHS programs.
  • Actively coaches peers and employees on safety behaviors and activities on the shop floor to improve to maintain a goal of zero incidents.
  • Responsible for investigations of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness. Focal point for Corporate H&S, Environmental, and Loss Prevention Audits.
  • Reviews incidents to ensure Root Cause Analysis is completed to prevent future accidents and drive corrective actions through health checks.
  • Implements, administrators and advise others on hazard control programs for their respective Plant(s).
  • Lead coordination of inspections by regulatory agencies, ensure deficiencies are minimized and corrected and present findings and corrections to the Plant Manager.
  • Provide internal support for Workers’ Compensation cases and adherence to HIPAA’s Privacy Rule.
  • Conducts new hire safety on-boarding for new employees, safety training, maintains and creates SOPs, maintains plant records, and maintains training schedules and records.
