Zuma New York is hiring a Head of Private Events. This role will lead and oversee the Private Events Sales team, driving sales and ensuring the delivery of exceptional event experiences. You will be adept at developing strategies to build sales & attract new clients. You will be passionate about managing & motivating the events team, implementing a structured processes to enhance the delivery of our exceptional events hosted at Zuma.


What you will do:


  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Private Events team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of all private events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences – developing & implement sales strategies to increase private event bookings and revenue
  • Collaborate with chefs & operations leaders to develop and customize event menus and layouts
  • Identify and attract new clients, leveraging networking and outreach activities
  • Monitor and manage event budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability
  • Analyze event performance and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
  • Provide on-site support during major events, addressing any issues or concerns that arise


What will help you to be successful:


  • 3-4 years of experience in event sales and execution, preferably within a hospitality setting
  • Strong sales acumen with a demonstrated ability to build and grow event revenue
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively & proficiency in using event management/sales software
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
