Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in at least two outdoor pursuit activities; including but not limited to rock climbing, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, hiking, land navigation, cross country skiing, and camping.
  • Acceptance in a University of Nebraska at Omaha degree program.
  • Desire to mentor and collaborate with college students.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Wilderness First Aid and CPR / AED certifications, or an ability to acquire within 6 months of on-boarding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wilderness First Responder, Outdoor Emergency Care Technician, or equivalent first aid certification.
  • First-Aid and CPR / AED instructor certification.
  • PCIA Climbing Wall Instructor, AMGA Single Pitch or Climbing Wall Instructor, or equivalent.
  • Previous recreation leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in staff development and event/program planning.
