We are exclusively partnering with a 5th Generation Transportation/Logistics Company in their search for a General Counsel. This position will also give guidance to their 501c3. The company has an outstanding reputation for service excellence. Position is remote with 20 to 25% travel. The company is strategically positioned for long-term, sustainable growth.

Key highlights about the position:

• Offer expert and strategic legal advice relating to a range of business issues.
• Must have an understanding on all Department of Transportation DOT) laws, OSHA, FDA and employment regulations.
• Actively contribute and formulate company policies for operating procedures, risk mitigation, while ensuring compliance with laws.
• Oversee contracts and guide on complex contract issues.
• Partner with outside counsel for litigation matters involving auto, trucking, general liability claims.
• Build strong relationships with outside legal counsel for trucking and general claims – settle and dispose of claims expeditiously.
• Position will oversee all Enterprise DOT compliance and serve as Designated Employer Representative for drug & Alcohol testing.
• Position will serve as corporate secretary as well as in-house counsel to the company 501c3
• Responsible for document governance and developing legal strategies for minimizing exposure and potential liabilities.
• Position is on the board and will draft, review, and approve corporate resolutions, contracts, and agreements.
• Lead and maintain responsibility for Company Certification efforts related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG).
• Leadership places high value on collaboration and building an initiative legal culture.
