The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree, or equivalent work experience and 5+ years of hands on accounting experience as a full charge accountant or bookkeeper. The candidate should be driven, motivated and well organized.
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience.
5+ years of working with various accounting systems, such as QuickBooks and Business Central.
Excellent MS Excel skills.
Experience with Government contracting is preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to communicated schedules and deadlines.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Work with outside accounting firm to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audit processes.
Update timesheet system with adding project codes as needed.
Generate required financial reports for customers and various 3rd party financial organizations.
