As the Foundation President, you will be responsible for creating the policies, forms and processes for the newly developed Foundation to support Nevada Donor Network (NDN). Advances the cause of the organization through philanthropic activities to build a network and make connections that develop relationships and lead to opportunities. Additionally, this position will be building and stewarding a portfolio of new national and international foundation donors. You will work with the donor and appropriate Nevada Donor Network staff to secure grants and ensure proper donor stewardship with the goal of an ongoing grant relationship. Other responsibilities include assisting with the grants management process for Nevada Donor Network. This position will report directly to the CEO and will represent NDN’s development interests to constituencies, both internal and external, and will work in close collaboration with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, Foundation Board members and campaign committee to achieve philanthropic goals.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Manage a portfolio of national foundation grant relationships, building and maintaining strong, ongoing donor relationships that advance the mission of Nevada Donor Network.
  • Establish and implement short and long-term fundraising goals through the creation and maintenance of a Philanthropy Strategic Plan for NDN. Monitor success through metrics and reports.
  • Build relationships with a portfolio of foundation donors, working with appropriate Nevada Donor Network leadership.
  • Identify, recruit and retain high-level executives and CEO’s to join NDN campaign committee board.
  • Pursue new national and international grant opportunities, consulting and collaborating with other fundraising staff, content staff, and local partners as necessary.
  • Work with the content, fundraising and finance teams to help ensure that all grants objectives and requirements are met, including timely submission of grant proposals, agreements and reports.
  • Draft and execute donor gift agreements for CEO to review prior to signing.
  • Develops quarterly and annual reports for NDN Management and Foundation Governing Board and donors.
  • Manages and develops annual fund and individual giving programs.
  • Provide leadership in all advancement efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, planned giving, donor services, external relations, communications and marketing.
  • Manages and facilitates committees and tasks forces.
  • Collaborates with NDN CEO to develop agendas for foundation board meetings.
  • Establishes and fosters relationships with key contributors, volunteers, foundation board members, and the community to further Foundation programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other NDN staff to identify and increase participation in Network and Foundation events.
  • Responsible for the development and adherence to the Foundation’s annual budget.
  • Development of grant proposals and reports to foundation donors.
  • Develop and maintain a process for grants management process and online grants system.
  • Works closely with the Community Services Manager and team to increase the foundation’s visibility and role within the community.
  • Provide fundraising and philanthropy training and guidance to NDN team, as needed, to create a strong culture of philanthropy.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as necessary.

Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of non-profit fundraising experience. Public speaking experience.

Computer Skills: Proficient at an intermediate or advanced level in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point. Experience with grant tracking software.

Certificates & Licenses: None.

Other Requirements: Dynamic leader with superior interpersonal, written, oral communication, and analytical skills, a proven relationship builder, and excellent motivational abilities

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute an effective comprehensive fundraising program in the healthcare field.

Proven presentation skills for public speaking and networking.

Strong leadership qualities and the ability to oversee and many projects at one time.
