Every day, our team is given the honor and responsibility to care for heroic donors. Fulfilling their wishes of giving a second chance through organ, eye and tissue donation is extremely important to us. Meet Janet. Her loved ones shared… Janet lived a life of adventure and service. She was an avid cyclist, hiker and tennis player. Janet traveled extensively around the world and shared many adventures with her husband Mike and many loved ones. She was raised in Southern California and moved to Reno in 1980. During her career at Sierra Pacific Power Company, she became an expert on Truckee River water issues and played an instrumental role in the federally negotiated Truckee River Operating Agreement led by Senator Harry Reid. In 2003, Janet pursued a grand vision to build a bicycle and hiking trail along the entire length of the Truckee River named, ‘Tahoe-Pyramid Trail.’ She received many awards and accolades for her work including the Reno Gazette Journal’s Citizen of the Year. Twenty years and much progress later, the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail is enjoyed by thousands and is 80% complete. Janet’s final words were, “Don’t be too sad, I had an exciting, wonderful life.” Are you inspired to bring hope to those waiting? The International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners (IACME) has more than 85 years of experience sharing important educational opportunities for leaders in coroners’ and medical examiners’ offices around the country! This includes forensic specialists of all types. Nevada Donor Network wouldn’t be able to save and heal lives through organ, eye and tissue donation without these professionals across our state putting in extra effort to support our mission. We were proud to be there supporting them! . . . . #DonateLife #UltimateGift #IACME #GiveBack

Nevada Donor Network is honored to care for heroic donors each day. Respecting their wishes of giving a second chance through organ, eye and tissue donation is extremely important to us. Meet Davyon. His loved ones shared... In March of 2013, Davyon was welcomed in the world with his twin brother, Jaylon. Davyon AKA Gramps or Day-Day was a happy boy that loved fire trucks, minions, school buses and smoke detectors. He was a quiet boy who loved reading and Diary of a Wimpy Kid was Day-Day’s favorite book. While most kids enjoy watching cartoons, he loved watching shows like 911 and programs on the weather channel. Day-Day also had a great sense of humor and would say the funniest things. One day his twin brother asked him to plug in his phone and he responded, “Ok, but know this… I am your brother, not your butler.” I remember one day Jasmine (his mother) told the kids to hurry up and go to bed. Day-Day then told his twin, “There she goes again, being a Karen.” When Jaylon asked Day-Day, “What is a Karen?” Day-Day responded, “An old lady that always asks if she can speak to the manager.” We called him Gramps because he would say things like, “Nana, I thought you said not to eat candy from strangers… Then why do you want me to go trick or treating?” or “You also told us not to get into the car with strangers… Well, why are we getting in an uber?” He told Jasmine that he wished he was born in the 90s because the candy and music were much better back then. I remember one day his great grandmother wanted to take the boys to Mount Charleston, but Day-Day does not like long car rides and wanted to get there as fast as possible so he asked if we could go to Walgreens to get some Red Bull because, “Red Bull gives you wings.” He got his real wings on April 18, 2024. Although he never had a fascination with superheroes, Jasmine’s courageous decision to donate his organs has made him a hero in the truest sense. By giving other families, a chance to save their children’s lives, he saved four lives and to those families, he will always be their superhero. I could talk all day about our precious Davyon, even though he only lived 11 years it was the best 11 years of our lives. We will miss him, but he will always be in our hearts and minds forever. Fly high and rest in paradise love bug. Learn more about the many ways our mission impacts our community: https://hubs.li/Q02HkWTb0 . . . . #DonateLife #NevadaStrong #WeAreNevadans #NevadansForNevada
