About the Role

The Food & Beverage Manager will help oversee the overall food and beverage experience provided by the Club. The F&B Manager will be expected to ensure that the quality of product and experience will result in the long-range, continued growth and profitability of the department, and add value to being a Member of the Club. Other responsibilities will include overseeing the health, safety, and welfare of the Club Members and their guests. The F&B Manager will also be accountable for the department’s assets, actions, and property.


Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in managing an upscale dining environment. The ideal candidate must have experience in working with budgets, hiring, and managing staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask are essential. A college degree is preferred. Working knowledge of various computer point-of-sale, payroll, and scheduling programs is required. The candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.


Essential Duties


  • Provide leadership and management for the Food and Beverage Department outlets including the Main Dining Room, The Hideaway Bar & Grill, and banquet functions.
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation.
  • Individuals will be expected to be highly visible throughout the outlets.
  • Direct staff to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, and that ongoing training translates into consistent high-quality experiences that foster the long-range continued growth and profitability of the department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of department policies, operating procedures, training programs, work schedules, and regulations.
  • Recruit, hire and train top talent.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of the department’s personnel attendance, appearance, standards, work, and vacation schedules.
  • Ensure the team is accountable to club expectations and conduct disciplinary action meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate the storage, inventory, and maintenance of related food and beverage supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all menu items, including preparation and presentation.
  • Must maintain familiarity with daily specials and actively present to members.
  • Ensure all food and/or drink items are prepared consistent with Club guidelines before being served.
  • Remain up to date on upcoming Club events.
  • Strictly adhere to rules and regulations established in the employee handbook, Club policies, and all related laws, statues and government requirements and guidances.
  • Maintain open communication with all team members including Back of House.
  • Utilize the 10’-5’ rule in all interactions.
  • Recognize and address any problems resulting from member or guest complaints.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, maintenance issues or damage to equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested by Management.


Other Duties


  • Understand the competitive environment of the private club landscape in Los Angeles, Nationally and globally, and be able to recommend ideas to enhance our Club.
  • Knowledge of Club Offering.
  • Thorough understanding of the Club’s membership documents, programming, and general offering to members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and dress appropriately for an upscale athletic and social club.
  • Personal and professional conduct ethical and consistent with the vision of the Club
  • Promote goodwill and positive energy throughout the membership and staff.
  • Maintain integrity and supply of membership documents.
  • Highly visible in order to interact with members and guests. Assist the Director of F&B and staff with interaction and services provided to members’ guests.


Pay range and compensation package

$75k-$90k per year depending on experience. Yearly Performance-Based Bonus Opportunity. 401k Matching up to 4% after one year of service.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is usually indoors, in a controlled environment, and in some cases outdoors and experiences a moderate noise level in the work environment.
