Food and Beverage Manager

The Food & Beverage Manager directly supervises all A la Carte and Banquet services. This includes overseeing reservations, staffing, and the organization of all dining rooms and banquets. A critical aspect of the role is ensuring that all member food and beverage experiences are outstanding. The Food & Beverage Manager is present and visible on the floor during service hours to ensure the highest possible member satisfaction.


The Food & Beverage Manager reports to and works closely with the Assistant Clubhouse Managers and collaborates with the management team. Leadership and a positive attitude are required to ensure collaborative, innovative, and harmonious relationships between front and back-of-house operations.


Essential Job Functions


• Responsible for designated F&B operations including banquets, events, a la carte, and pool grill.

• Prepare assignments for staff assigned to each shift. Includes assignments for each portion of the work shift; including set-up, service, breakdown, and side work.

• Conducts meetings with the staff at the start of each shift. Inspect uniforms, and review assignments, and steps of service for each shift.

• Trains line-level staff in BFCC best practices and procedures.

• Work closely with other Food and Beverage Managers, Assistant Clubhouse Managers, and Executive Chef to plan and successfully execute service.

• Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff.

• Maintains all silver, glassware, and service ware items and keeps a working inventory.

• Resolves member/guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to the next manager in line on shift.

• Assures that all safety, accident, and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed.

• Assists in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating service staff.

• Inspects club rooms to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.

• Enforces established rules, regulations, and policies of the Club.

• Assures that all local and state laws for the service of alcohol are complied with and per BFCC policies.

• Conducts after-service evaluations to improve the quality and efficiency of a la carte services.

• Manages area within budgetary guidelines in coordination with dub management.

• Attends to member special requests and makes every reasonable and ethical effort to fulfill member desires and to provide a memorable world-class dining experience.

• Provides leadership, guidance, and execution of dub events, private events, and banquet operations.


Secondary Job Functions


• Provides layout and design recommendations for banquets and events.

• Suggest dining room decorations for special themes.

• Ensure the front and back of the house are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.


Qualifications/Skills/Education


• Minimum of two years' experience as a supervisor in a high-volume restaurant or banquet facility, fine dining experience.

• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

• Ability to manage a team to achieve desired results and work well with people in a team environment.

• Ability to maintain BFCC culture for members and staff.

• Ability to coach and train line-level staff following BFCC standards.

• Ability to work well around a large number of people and in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work with limited supervision.

• High attention to detail.

• Wine knowledge and menu implementation skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent hospitality skills.

• The ability to communicate and understand the directions of the Event Coordinator and Members, and comply with those directions.

• The ability to communicate in English, written and verbal, for direct communication with members and coworkers.

• Microsoft Office Suite and relevant POS knowledge and skills preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management preferred.
