Finishing Line Supervisor JOS2015 - VA

Starting Base Salary: $80-100K

Summary

In a solvent-based finishing application environment, supervises all material finishing operations and the assigned production employees. Position efficiently plans and assigns tasks in order to meet production and quality goals while maintaining the highest level of safety possible. Also responsible for developing and reporting on improvements in production methods, equipment, working conditions, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains workflow and reports major issues or production delays to the next level of command.
  • Motivates, trains, and supervises employees while also providing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Oversees employees using a Superficial flat line and a hand spray room to apply solvent-based coatings to wood cabinetry.
  • Provide or arrange for manufacturing materials and supplies, services, and equipment while maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Keeps track of absenteeism and timekeeping while conducting accident investigations and adhering to all OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose finish-related issues with coating applications, as well as ensure that coatings are applied efficiently to meet established quality standards.
  • Delegated tasks and responsibilities; monitors, controls, and reports on work quality and quantity. In charge of ensuring the proper maintenance of all production equipment.
  • Strives for positive outcomes across the board by balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and employee morale. Employee issues are resolved using effective conflict resolution.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of coating application machinery and tools such as spray guns, pumps, and automated spray booths.
  • 3 to 5 years of successful supervisory experience in a finishing production environment is required.
  • Ability to plan for a 30-day period in advance and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and achieve positive results.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
