As a Field Engineer you will be providing technical support to customer technicians, who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, debugging and maintaining products. You will also report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineers/software engineering.
You will assist with customer installation and training and provide support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
Top Must Haves:
- experience with OTDR testing, Splicing
- familiar with ISP network infrastructure
- understanding network documentation and testing techniques
- good communication skills
Nice To Haves:
- can hit the ground running, or able to ramp quickly
- relevant certifications a plus, not required
- experience working with desktop software programs (MS Suite, Excel, Word ,Visio)
Notes:
-Possible travel outside of the US > Canada and Mexico. However, if you do not have a US passport then they will work within the US.
-primarily flying to locations, for driving long distances can rent a car. Within 60 miles would expect personal vehicle (not often).
-travel booked through client vendor, some costs such as hotels, food, gas, and smaller expenses might be out of pocket for the worker but will be reimbursed.
-travel can be anywhere but try to organize by region to limit distance
-willing to travel on weekends and any overtime will be compensated
-willing to work longer days (not often)
