One Community Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Express Clinic Team. This multifaceted role involves a variety of clinical and operational duties to support our mission of providing exceptional patient care. The Express Clinic MA assists the Clinic Operations Manager in performing clinic operational tasks including patient intake and processing, assisting providers with treatments and procedures, patient instruction, and patient education. This position will also get to serve as communication liaison between patient, medical provider, and licensed nurse. Additional duties include quality control checks, performance improvement, supply stocking, equipment sterilization, patient records management, and patient scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure and emergency situations.
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Epic, and other relevant systems.
Competence in accurately obtaining all vital signs.
Ability to administer immunizations and forecast vaccination schedules.
Proficiency in administering, reading, and interpreting PPD tests with appropriate referral for positive results.
Skilled in performing EKGs, Tympanograms, and Snellen’s exams.
Capable of performing O2 Saturation monitoring and administering Nebulizer treatments.
Proficient in the administration of oral and injectable medications.
Expertise in setting up sterile fields and procedural setups.
Knowledgeable and competent in INS nursing visit procedures.
Understanding of workflows and their impact on patient flow and productivity.
Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively amidst multiple or competing timelines.
Proven ability to meet timelines for team and organizational goals safely and with high quality.
Strong relationship management skills in a multidisciplinary and diverse environment.
Ability to use initiative and sound judgment to resolve problems and challenges.
Effective team player with a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity.
Demonstrated ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences.
Ability to work independently on multiple projects while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Familiarity with customer service and workplace safety standards.
Willingness and ability to work in a dynamic and evolving community healthcare environment.
Experience/licensing/certification
1 year of experience as a Certified MA
Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual- English/Spanish
Experience working with low income, multi-ethnic populations
Experience at a FQHC or look alike.
Experience working in an integrated team based setting.
