JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  



  • Provides direction and leadership to associates in the housekeeping and laundry departments. 



  • Regulates quality of cleanliness of all areas of the hotel by performing inspections and the required follow up. 



  • Responsible for the inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for all housekeeping items. 



  • Supervises the Lost and Found Department. 



  • Communicates with Guest Services to ensure that all cleaned rooms are entered in the computer system. 



  • Provides courteous guest service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints. 



  • Make recommendations regarding housekeeping budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints. 

  • Manages the human resources function in all areas of housekeeping in order to attract, retain, and motivate associates:  hire, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communication for all associates. 



  • Schedules associate’s in accordance with forecasted occupancy, adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in business levels. 



  • Maintains information and communication sources to include log book, and other forms of communication. 


 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 



  • Two years of college; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 



  • Basic math skills 



  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing 



  • Strong leadership skills 



  • Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members 



  • Excellent time management skills
