The Plant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor will lead and manage the EHS programs at the Monofrax plant, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves promoting safe workplace practices, driving accident prevention, minimising environmental waste, and fostering a culture of safety and health in alignment with client’s principles and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework.
Roles And Responsibilities
Direct the site’s safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and corporate policies.
Safety Management: Lead the WCM Safety Pillar, conduct safety audits, implement risk reduction projects, and oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.
Manage environmental processes, including chemical management, waste management, and pollution prevention, to achieve client’s long-term environmental goals.
Oversee the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program, review new chemicals for safety, and conduct ergonomic assessments to minimize risks.
Develop and deliver EHS training programs, promote behavioural safety initiatives, and support positive employee relations and communication.
Perform data entry, analyze EHS data, and use it to drive and implement EHS objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or a Technical College Degree in Environment, Hygiene, and Work Safety with significant related experience.
Minimum of 5 years in safety, environmental, or related fields in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on leadership experience in a unionized industrial setting.
Ability to develop and deliver EHS training, strong knowledge of chemicals, environmental science, and human health, and proficiency in OSHA regulations (OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Certification required).
Effective communication and influencing skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a hands-on leadership style that values time spent on the shop floor.
