The University of Kindia in Guinea has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an English Department Lecturer. The objectives of the University of Kindia are to train and provide the country with highly qualified executives for its socio-economic development; to popularize science and improve the living conditions of the population through adequate research; to qualify the management staff; to create income-generating activities; to promote cultural, scientific and technical activities; and to develop exchanges and cooperation with other educational and research institutions, companies, projects and NGOs in Guinea, Africa and the world.

The PCRV will collaborate with university staff to train and strengthen the capacity and ability of learners, teachers, and supervisors. The PCRV will also teach classes and conduct training workshops.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Guinea together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills

  • Bachelors in English or a related field
  • Experience with University Pedagogy, American Literature, International Relations, Testing and Evaluation, and Research Methodology
