FDRsafety is seeking an EHS Director for a large construction services client near Rochester, NY. This is a full-time permanent opportunity that will offer a generous base salary, a lucrative benefits package and bonus incentive, and substantial opportunities for growth. This position will be responsible for overseeing multiple locations across the US and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
Leads the team of safety champions throughout the organization to ensure environmental, health and safety practices are in place to be compliant with federal, state, local, and industry regulations and codes.
Proactively performs environmental, health and safety assessments to identify areas of potential concern and creates plans for immediate mitigation.
Creates a plan to reduce safety incidents and presents to leadership for approval and implementation.
Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
Designs and/or performs monthly safety training sessions.
Responsible for being the first point of contact for injuries, incidents, and vehicle accidents to triage and immediately take action to address.
Works with the HR Coordinator to ensure all required documentation is on file or submitted to the appropriate organizations to ensure compliance.
Performs and documents accident investigations to provide solutions to field leadership to ensure similar situations will not happen again.
Be available and approachable to all employees as much as possible to build trust.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in EH&S is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive safety experience required
Flexibility with travel.
Demonstrated knowledge of employee relationship-building
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
