Job Description
The Educational/IT Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of information and learning management systems within the environment. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Specialist provides technical support, maintains system security, and implements policies to uphold network integrity. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of educational technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert technical support for IT Network, including the Learning Management System (Moodle), SharePoint sites, and local area network (LAN).
Manage and update Academic module and other educational platforms.
Develop and deliver training materials for faculty and staff on educational technologies.
Collaborate with Academics Manager and technical team on course development and database management.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and oversee system documentation and certification.
Serve as primary contact for technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Maintain Audio Visual systems and coordinate Video Teleconferences and Virtual training courses.
Conduct preventive maintenance on IT equipment and perform software updates as necessary.
Assist in IT equipment procurement and disposal processes.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in technology preferred or equivalent experience.
Certification: CompTIA Security Plus or ability to obtain within six months of hiring.
Experience: Minimum five years supporting military training and education; IT experience preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Linux, VMWare, and mobile operating systems.
Knowledge: Familiarity with DoD and Marine Corps information processing standards and security principles.
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain or maintain security clearance.
Occasional local travel and ability to lift and move IT equipment.
Commitment to compliance with federal workforce standards.
