We're looking for an experienced, visionary, travel-obsessed Editorial Director to join the global leader in bespoke, sustainable luxury travel experiences across the African continent. Dedicated to delivering extraordinary journeys that are both luxurious and impactful, they cater to ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking unique and culturally sensitive travel experiences that respect and preserve Africa's inherent beauty.


Please note: this is a remote position; however, candidates must be based in US Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Europe (CET).


About the position:

As Editorial Director, you'll lead brand storytelling and communications efforts and contribute to a dynamic and talented marketing team. You will be the architect of brand storytelling and content, shaping a comprehensive media strategy that fuels brand presence and growth, drives lead gen and propels the brand to supreme heights.


Working closely with Founder and CEO, you'll execute the brand vision and voice while supporting the content and marketing needs of the CMO. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree or higher, is curious, sophisticated and refined, well-travelled, and has an in-depth knowledge of the media and ultra-luxe travel landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Storytelling Visionary – Ability to ideate, research, edit and produce a comprehensive digital media content strategy encompassing mailers, specific marketing nurture series, landing pages, seo-optimized content and more that uniquely positions the company as a leader in the luxury Africa travel and lifestyle sector.
  • Digital Command Center – Proven experience with generating impactful content driven toward lead generation through media channels, partnership development and brand collaborations.
  • Content Mastermind – Spearhead and manage the creation of high-quality content and copywriting that resonates with the 0.1% UHNWI audience, showcasing the transformative power of the company's experiences through our own unique lends and utilizing Founder and CEO voice.
  • Media Strategist – Lead the development and execution of a dynamic media strategy that fosters vibrant communities, amplifies brand awareness, and drives qualified leads in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Team Catalyst – Contribute toward a collaborative and results-oriented marketing team, displaying thought leadership, and empowering individuals to thrive and excel. Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and provide clear content direction and planning.
  • Visual Connoisseur – Innate understanding and appreciation that you are showcasing something much more than travel. You are changing lives.
  • Impeccable Producer – Oversee content production from ideation to creation and implementation, from crafting stories and conducting interviews, to writing and managing the production and publication of said content in collaboration with the CEO, creative directors, graphic designers and web developers.


Requirements:

  • Must be based in US Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Europe (CET)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in English/Writing, Journalism, Communications, or a similarly applicable field
  • 5+ years digital editorial experience
  • Impeccable writing abilities and oral communication skills
  • Supremely strong writing portfolio and ability to capture and evoke the tone and voice of the client to drive actions across audiences
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of SEO and lead generation with proven success writing for marketing and conversion rate optimization purposes
  • Must be extremely culturally curious and on the pulse of relevant industries; as the "voice" of the brand, we want someone who's immersed in travel, luxury, and social landscapes; who's incredibly well-read, and who can authentically communicate with the 0.1% UHNWI audience
  • Must have a genuine passion for travel and ability to participate in occasional travel experiences provided by the company
  • Can work extremely well remotely with consistent access to WiFi and ability to participate in regular team meetings and collaborative work
  • Deadline-driven and can work in a very fast-paced environment. You'll be expected to turn work around quickly to meet timelines
  • Experienced working closely with marketing teams to create cohesive, cross-channel content and messaging campaigns
  • Ability to measure the success of your work and produce and disseminate regular reports highlighting relevant SEO, lead gen, and conversion metrics
