Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Editor to support the Master Resilience Training Program and additional support to the Directorate of Prevention, Resilience, and Readiness (DPRR) programs.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Shall collaborate clearly with personnel during the curriculum development process, ensuring that all written training and education material developed follows English writing and Army standards.
• Ensures that written material clearly communicates ideas to target audiences; that content agrees with applicable orders, directives, guidance, and source documents; does not violate copyright law; and that document properties support electronic publication.
• Provides expertise in print and digital publication of training and education material.
• Shall support the production of briefs, articles, information products, and material communicated to Army and external stakeholders.
  
  

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong editing skills, with proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and syntax, and the ability to edit for clarity, coherence, and consistency.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of the Army organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army.
• Shall speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent that they can read and understand printed regulations, written orders, operating procedures, training instructions and materials, and perform the duties assigned.
• Must have a professional appearance that is appropriate for their position and adhere to facility dress codes. Contractor employees shall conduct themselves in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with database management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience editing learning material and 5 years’ experience working with the military as a military member, civilian, or contractor.
• Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) (Tier 1) background investigation.
• Must be a US citizen.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Army writing standards and regulations, including Army Regulation 25-50 and the Army Writing Style Guide.
• Experience with curriculum development processes, instructional design methodologies, and learning management systems is a plus
  
  

The pay range for this position is $72,546 - $89,546 annually.
