Manages and leads the daily instruction for the early childhood program which includes: special education, Virginia Preschool Initiative and community peers. This work also includes supervising the ongoing operations and the Child Find process for the early childhood program at the Jessie Thackrey Preschool.

Education And Experience
Masters degree in education, special education, or related field.
Eligibility for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License in administration and supervision.
Eligibility for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License in early childhood special education or related field
At least 5 years experience working in the field of early childhood special education or related field
At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the field of education or the demonstration of an increasing level of responsibility
Experience with the special education procedures including assessments, eligibility meetings, and the development of IEPs
Physical Requirements
Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.
Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and projection and video devices.
Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.
