Job Summary

The Donor Relations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving fund development efforts to support donor-driven revenue for GSNETX. Collaborating with the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director of Development, and other key stakeholders, the Manager oversees the donor stewardship process including the donor database, donor reports, and benefit fulfillment, communication and engagement of donors in the Girl Scout mission. The Donor Relations Manager provides collaborative support for processes and procedures to allow the Fund Development team to cultivate, engage and steward donors of GSNETX.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned):

  • Support the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director of Development and Grants Manager with prospect research:
    • Conduct in-depth prospect research to identify new target prospects for philanthropic engagement, utilizing various research tools to assess financial ability, charitable interests, and propensity to give.
    • Analyze data on individual, corporate and foundation prospects to identify solicitation potential and adjust donor portfolios accordingly
    • Conduct routine briefings with the Fund Development team to review and edit donor portfolios, present new prospects and import changes in the donor database as required.
  • Manage the donor database, serving as the primary contact for all internal partners:
    • Process incoming gifts for GSNETX within a 48 hour timeframe.
    • Investigate, analyze and accurately synthesize large quantities of data into a user-friendly and concise format to support the strategic initiative of GSNETX.
    • Ensure the accuracy of donor records, including the regular maintenance of donor records, imported information and global changes to the database.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile gifts and pledges monthly, maintaining data integrity for strategic operations., including month-end close and proper financial input from various online giving platforms.
    • Implement and enforce database policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Oversee list management for GSNETX events, annual appeals, various mailings and other associated needs.
  • Work alongside the Senior Director of Development to implement a strong donor stewardship process, including
    • Support the planning of Donor events and meetings including but not limited to the Women of Distinction Luncheon, Donors of Distinction events and donor meetings.
    • Coordinate donor communications and acknowledgments, ensuring timely and appropriate engagement with constituents Coordinate Fund Development projects including: managing mailings, supporting event planning, scheduling meetings, preparing packets and maintaining supplies.
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Relations Coordinator and Senior Director of Development, oversee GSNETX Service Unit giving, including calculating rebates for service units.
    • Maintain Service Unit Family Partnership procedures.
    • Process troop pass through program funding rebates.
  • Process Fund Development expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage relationships, contracts and terms with vendors used for Fund Development payment processing, donor database software, donor research, prospecting, digital campaigns and events and more.
  • Represent Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas at Council functions and events as requested.
  • Must maintain confidentiality when dealing with donors and gifts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor��s degree required with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of research methods and fundraising and donor data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and priority-setting abilities are critical to success.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; experience in use of databases preferred.
  • Must be able to work with partners, donors, Board members, staff and volunteers in a discrete and professional manner.
  • Must demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work. Must demonstrate ability to handle detailed work with great accuracy, be able to correct own work and work of others as required. Excellent follow-up skills required. Requires ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in timely, composed and organized manner.
  • Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers, volunteers served by this council, and others with whom their job puts them in contact.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

  • Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required.
  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers’ license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary.
