Division Manager - Civil Construction

Location: Birmingham, AL

Our client, a leading heavy civil contractor, is seeking a seasoned Heavy Civil Division Manager in Birmingham, AL.

Benefits:

• Compensation range: $175,000 - 215,000.
• Bonus opportunity up to 20% of base salary.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of heavy civil projects throughout the southeast.
• Lead project management teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership in preconstruction activities, including estimating, bidding, and proposal preparation.
• Manage the division's Profit and Loss (P&L) performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successful project management and delivery in the heavy civil sector.
• Strong understanding of preconstruction processes, including estimating, scheduling, and value engineering.
• Excellent financial acumen with experience managing P&L for large construction projects.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
