Next year, we will release a Request for Proposals (RFP) to fill available concessions spaces, including those in the airport's new concourses. We are committed to featuring local businesses that celebrate the diversity of our community, as part of the #MoreRNO Infrastructure Program. The Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is preparing for a surge of travelers during the Independence Day week, with the busiest days anticipated on June 27, 28, 30, and July 7. RNO experienced its highest passenger counts so far this year with over 9,000 passengers departing in a single day on June 23. The airport expects up to 18,000 total passengers on upcoming peak travel days. Helpful tips for a smooth travel experience: - Arrive two hours before your departure time. - Use the real-time parking availability tool before heading to RNO. - Follow TSA's carry-on rules to alleviate congestion at the security checkpoint. Safe travels and enjoy your Independence Day celebrations! #FourthOfJuly #IndependenceDay #TravelTips #FlyRNO #TravelAlert
Sunday, June 23, 2024 was the busiest day ever for TSA as our officers screened 2.99M individuals at airports. The #SummerTravel season will continue to heat up over the Independence Day holiday. We expect more than 32M individuals to take to the skies. Read travel tips and more: https://lnkd.in/gF5N6cEA

Today, Carol Chaplin, our Board of Trustees chair, presented the prestigious Outstanding Service Award to U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen for her proactive, bipartisan efforts supporting the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). Sen. Rosen has been a champion for the RTAA over the past year, chairing a new subcommittee on tourism, trade and export promotion, championing the application from RTAA that secured funding from the Airport Terminal Program, funding for a new Airport Rescue Fire Fighting apparatus, and sponsoring legislation to provide financial stability for airports like RNO. Sen. Rosen understands RNO's role as an economic driver for northern Nevada and is setting us up for success for generations to come. We thank Sen. Rosen’s regional representative, Abbey Pike, for accepting the award today on her behalf.

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program today! 🌻 Our goal is to make travel inclusive, positive, and stress-free for everyone. The Sunflower program was adopted to support travelers with hidden disabilities, helping them communicate their needs discreetly. By wearing the Sunflower symbol, passengers let airport staff know they might need a little extra assistance or understanding during their journey through RNO. Passengers can request official lanyards at any RNO airline ticket counter or visit the airport’s Information Hub. Join us in celebrating this amazing initiative! With over 200 airports around the world participating, we are excited to bring this initiative to the Reno-Tahoe region. #FlyRNO #BeSeenWithSunflower #HDSunflower #SunflowerLanyard #HiddenDisabilities

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority reposted this
This week I had the great opportunity to participate in The Nevada Independent IndyTalks panel on Economic Development in northern Nevada. It was a privilege to share the stage with Taylor Adams from Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) and Mike Larragueta from Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, where we discussed the vibrant growth and development happening in our region. One key takeaway? The importance of partnership and collaboration. Together, the RTAA, EDAWN, and RSCVA teams form an impactful trifecta, working hand-in-hand to drive sustainable growth and prosperity in Reno-Tahoe. The collective efforts are important in fostering innovation, attracting businesses and enhancing the quality of life for our community. A huge thank you Jon Ralston from the Nevada Independent for hosting this important conversation, and certainly bringing some laughs. I look forward to continuing to all work together to shape a thriving future for northern Nevada.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport continues to improve the convenience and modernization passengers know and love. President and CEO Daren Griffin, A.A.E. talks about what's in the works for the airport and how we're funding these improvements. The future of RNO is more, #MoreRNO.
"If we don’t do it now, they will be so far behind in 2031, they may never catch up." - Daren Griffin, President/CEO, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, says they know they have to be able to handle significantly more customers as the area continues to grow, which is the purpose of the $1 billion investment into the infrastructure modernization program. He explains that this program is designed to meet customer needs through the 2030s, into the 2040s and hopefully beyond then. https://lnkd.in/dZFf7CE7
