Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning at AmeriHealth Caritas advises the CEO and Executive Council on key enterprise-level strategic initiatives, and oversees four systems of work: (1) Corporate Strategy, (2) Enterprise Business Plan, (3) Market Insights, and (4) Board Reporting. The Director of Strategy & Planning reports to the Vice President of Strategy & Planning and brings crucial planning and management across the systems of work. A strong candidate has work experience leading teams within several disciplines, including strategic planning, business planning, financial analysis, market insights, and competitive intelligence.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning at AmeriHealth Caritas advises the CEO and Executive Council on key enterprise-level strategic initiatives, and oversees four systems of work: (1) Corporate Strategy, (2) Enterprise Business Plan, (3) Market Insights, and (4) Board Reporting. The Director of Strategy & Planning reports to the Vice President of Strategy & Planning and brings crucial planning and management across the systems of work. A strong candidate has work experience leading teams within several disciplines, including strategic planning, business planning, financial analysis, market insights, and competitive intelligence.
- Lead day-to-day execution of assigned initiatives and projects: develop charter and work plan, track progress against objectives and work plan, identify metrics of success, manage a team to drive progress and develop agendas and materials, collaborate with stakeholders, lead purpose-driven meetings with the team and various business leaders and facilitate discussion
- Drive the Enterprise Business Plan (EBP) process by collaborating with business leaders to develop the annual EBP for Board approval (EBP includes multi-year financial and capital plan, annual enterprise objectives and priorities, financial and margin improvement targets, multi-year growth plan, line-of-business and department budgets, enterprise portfolio investments, and enterprise business incentive plan); lead the continued maturation of the EBP process, including deployment and organizational alignment around the execution of the final EBP
- Facilitate strategic growth discussions among segment leaders to drive the identification and prioritization of growth opportunities and strategies, and drive the development of an enterprise growth strategy and cohesive enterprise growth plan, including an annual assessment of the corporate asset portfolio (Medicaid, LTSS, Medicare, Exchange, Pharmacy, Behavioral Health)
- Evaluate adjacency and M&A opportunities, develop business cases, and make recommendations
- Design the enterprise strategic plan framework and process, and drive and facilitate the development of the multi-year enterprise strategic plan; design measurement framework to monitor progress against the enterprise strategy and facilitate the process to pressure test course and speed
- Facilitate process with business leaders to develop an enterprise-wide capability gap analysis and roadmaps
- Add value to Medicaid Market Presidents and Product Presidents by delivering market insights and competitor intelligence
- Drive corporate and segment performance through continued maturation of Board reporting
- Manage and develop direct reports
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree
- 5-10 years of corporate strategy and/or business planning experience either at a management consulting firm or within a corporate development or corporate strategy department
- 5-10 years of healthcare industry experience
- Willingness to take initiative to ensure accountability in meeting business initiatives and strong leadership capability
- Strong data analytics and financial analysis skills
- Experience in synthesizing complex analysis and effectively communicating with leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is highly specifically PowerPoint and Excel
- Proven ability to manage different groups and support collaboration across various business units to advance projects and initiatives
- Strong project management skills
