Director Strategic Initiatives

The Program Director - Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing various programs and projects, with a special focus on strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the community workshop series and assist with the Boys of Color Conference in conjunction with the Program Director of Events.
• Manage marketing and outreach efforts to the community, including social media and donor relations.
• Coordinate promotional items and branding materials.
• Conduct quarterly school site visits.
• Lead fundraising efforts and build relationships with donors.
• Oversee special initiatives such as the Elementary Basketball League.
• Coach and support site coordinators with their school-site mentoring programs.
• Work closely to strengthen post-secondary opportunities and support the high school mentoring model.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Commitment to and belief in the mission, vision, and values of The Gentlemen’s League Mentoring Program.
• Must have mentoring experience or experience working with historically underserved boys of color. .

Preferred Skills

• Sound judgment and the ability to supervise mentors in the field.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with community volunteers and youth.
• Highly organized and collaborative.
• Ability to take initiative, be dependable, flexible, and resourceful.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs/Calendar, and Internet usage.
• Bilingual is a plus but not a requirement.

Additional Notes

• Able to work some evenings and weekends.
• A criminal background check, including fingerprint clearance, is required.

This role will focus heavily on fundraising efforts, donor relations, social media and marketing, special initiatives like overseeing the Elementary Basketball League, and coaching and supporting site coordinators with their school-site mentoring programs.
