Summary

Responsible for issuing accurate, appropriate and timely internal and external financial statements consistent with GAAP. Responsible for estimating revenue recognition and accounts receivable provisions (contractual allowances, bad debts, charity, etc.) on a monthly basis for the consolidated entities of Summa Health. Provides health system leadership on revenue reporting and analytics. Oversees centralized and standardized net revenue reporting. Ensures thorough understanding of A/R and net revenue trends. Ensures processes that provide timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsible for the preparation of the annual cost reports filed with Medicare and Medicaid and coordinating audits and appeals thereof, as necessary. Assures reporting accuracy of ERP system through various interfaced subsidiary systems such as EPIC patient billing. Handles all third-party reimbursement services rendered to patients. Maintains integrity of financial records and provides oversight during annual external audits. Responsible for the development and oversight of the Net Patient Service Revenue budget for Summa Health System. Responsible for implementing accounting guidance associated with revenue recognition and related audit support associated with this guidance. Reviews with System CFO and VP Financial Reporting and Controller all significant transactions for accounting purposes.

  • Formal Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Experience and Training Required:
  • Seven (7) years Accounting/Finance experience (public accounting or auditing preferred) to include three (3) years in a leadership role.
  • Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality regarding financial matters
  • Knowledge of computerized data systems and analytical skills required to perform statistical and data processing reviews
  • Works cooperatively and effectively with management personnel in a financial advisory capacity
  • Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy
  • Level of Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

$59.64/hr - $89.46/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
