Director, Project Management Office
As a key leader, this role will support all current/perspective business, and Corporate SG&A functions. In addition to being able to effectively develop, implement and oversee execution of Project Management best practices, critical skills for this position are the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across all business functions, to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing environment and to develop and support individual team members for optimal performance and career growth. The Director of Project Management will be responsible for day-to-day supervision Project Managers.

- Develops and supports strategic planning to meet organizational goals while partnering with business leaders.
- Supports the governance structure within the organization to establish and manage mission critical programs and initiatives including, (1) manage all aspects of project identification, prioritization and approvals, (2) conduct periodic reviews, establish KPIs and appropriate reporting mechanisms to provide visibility across the organization, (3) manage communications and (4) track both budgets and financial impacts associated with each initiative.
- Trains, mentors, coaches, and supports teams in the use of various methodologies to create a measurement and accountability mindset.
- Defines and measures key success criteria for the portfolio of transformational activities
- Support initiatives to execute cross business unit and cross functional projects.
- Works with business development team to ensure feasibility of planned projects.
- Develop operating mechanisms to ensure key leadership team is updated on the projects status to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
- Proactively identifies potential project risks, blockages and issues and works to mitigate them through direct action or providing guidance to others.
- Works with leadership in all functional areas on the continuous development/improvement of business processes to support cross-functional teams and to ensure that work is uniform, complete and managed appropriately driving and leading change initiatives.
- Identifies competency gaps within the organization and develops appropriate training programs, tools and organizational structures to properly enable the process across the enterprise
- Serve as primary liaison for projects to executive leadership team
Skills/Knowledge:
- Broad knowledge of business operations and interconnections between functions
- Good knowledge of ICH Guidelines and GCP including international regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development
- Ability to apply innovation and non-traditional ideas in problem solving while adapting to changing demands
- Executive presence
- Well-developed supervisory skills and team-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including good presentation skills.
- Results-oriented approach to work delivery and output.
- Problem solving skills, (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean)
- Planning, time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to handle conflicting priorities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Good software and computer skills, including MS Office applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
- Ability to work across cultures and geographies with a high awareness and understanding of cultural differences.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Should have at least 5 years’ experience as a project manager for relevant medical, public health, or similar research and at least one year of personnel management experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Masters (preferred but optional)
- General office environment or home-based
- Travel is required up to 20% for both domestic and international
