Director of Sales - Luxury Catering

Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present a new Director of Sales opportunity for a premium catering company based in Los Angeles. This family-owned organization packs a big punch and puts on off-site catering events ranging from 40 - 2500 guests. This is a small and mighty team that has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality ingredients and menu offerings! Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Director of Sales to play a major role in shaping and growing their sales team and catering sales program! You’ll be the go-to person for initial client inquiries, sharing information and packages, scheduling and conducting exciting site inspections, crafting proposals, and closing sales. You’ll collaborate closely with their Chef and Operations Manager to ensure every client is thrilled with their experience! Your creativity will shine as you develop and implement innovative sales strategies and spearhead cross-selling and joint marketing efforts to boost our visibility and profitability. You’ll also be a key mentor and supporter of the sales team, helping them achieve their individual and team goals in a fun and engaging environment. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pursue new and repeat catering clients, venues, and event planners.
  • Establish a solid and positive networking presence within local communities.
  • Provide personal, attentive service to ensure every client is delighted.
  • Review contracts, payments, and BEOs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Maintain and manage customer information in the database and CRM.
  • Set and consistently exceed sales goals, driving the team toward success.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to showcase our culinary offerings, sharing your passion for great food with clients and helping them envision memorable dining experiences.
  • Attend food tastings and culinary events to stay updated on food trends and incorporate them into sales strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position supervises sales department staff and is responsible for training and implementing/ supporting the sales program.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment but is also hybrid. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires occasionally lifting office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required as needed.
  • California Class C driver’s license with clean DMV record

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.A./M.B.A. or equivalent experience of five years of successful experience as a Director of Catering Sales at an upscale off-site catering company
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Excellent computer and software skills using MS Office Suite of programs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $85000K base salary + 4% individual commission + 2% team commission
