Over Father’s Day weekend, the Wichita Open benefiting KU Wichita Pediatrics—the longest-running PGA Tour-sanctioned event on the Korn Ferry Tour—was contested at Crestview Country Club’s historic North Course for the 24th consecutive year. The Wichita Open is more than just a golf tournament. It’s a community-wide event and first-class destination. Hosting more than 50,000 spectators, the tournament drives $7.2M of economic impact to the region, including over $300,000 for charity. A total of 156 players competed for a $1M purse, as they pursued their dreams of playing on the PGA Tour. Congratulations to Taylor Dickson on winning this year’s tournament and a check for $180,000. He topped both Crestview Member Sam Stevens and William Mouw by one stroke. Past winners include Tom Lehman, David Duval, David Toms and Jason Dufner. The $3 million of upgrades being implemented at Heathrow Legacy Country Club were just featured in the Orlando Business Journal. The article by Ryan Lynch explains the renovations to the first facility Concert Golf Partners ever owned. The renovations enabled Heathrow Legacy to become the first private facility in Central Florida to install TopTracer Range. “This multimillion-dollar investment in Heathrow Legacy is part of the ongoing commitment by Concert Golf Partners to continually reinvest in our properties each year, as we preserve and enhance our private clubs for our members nationwide,” said Concert Golf Senior VP of Operations Aaron Straub. Among the story's highlights: "The private club — which includes two golf courses, a Racquet Club with fitness and tennis courts, and two clubhouses —recently added several amenities for members. It opened 10 TopTracer range outdoor bays — which use Topgolf technology to track speed and distance of the ball — as well as 18 new greens on its Garl Course and infrastructure improvements for irrigation. "Lake Mary-based club owner Concert Golf Partners also renovated the Heathrow Clubhouse for the bar, patio, fixtures and HVAC, and a new pool deck was added....Ongoing work includes adding six pickleball courts at the Racquet Club this summer, as well as a remodel of the lobby, boardroom, bar and dining space in the Legacy Clubhouse. Concert Golf Partners dual acquisition of Walden on Lake Conroe GC and Northgate CC near Houston was ranked as one of the Top 10 sales of the past year (#7) in Golf Inc. Magazine's current cover story.....These iconic clubs helped Concert's portfolio rise to what is now 33 private clubs nationwide and marked our entry into Texas.....Concert Golf was praised for "helping to further its goal of preserving and enhancing private clubs." The magazine also stated that golf "course sales had one of the best years ever" and presented a very positive forecast for growth in the future. At the end of last year, Former Owner Dan McIntyre chose Concert as his successor for both Walden and Northgate after investigating a broad field of buyers, including other owner-operators, and said: “It is obvious that Concert Golf is committed to preserving and enhancing the culture that I worked hard to create at the Clubs. Their experience and efficiency throughout our interaction made the decision easy.” The Houston Business Journal also named Concert's acquisition of Walden and Northgate as a "Deal of the Week" at the close of 2023.
