As the guardian of safety standards and environmental stewardship within our organization, the Director of Safety plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of our operations. They are responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety and environmental compliance programs, fostering a culture of safety consciousness, and proactively addressing environmental risks and challenges.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Review contracts between the corporation and clients for compliance to terms.
- Maintain corporate reporting to OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA.
- Ensure compliance of individual subsidiaries with all local, State, and Federal Environmental, OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA standards.
- Stay informed an upcoming changes to standards in Environmental, OSHA, DOT and FMSCA standards that have an effect on the corporation and its operations.
- Work with 3rd party consultants in areas work responsibility.
- Assist in training local safety and fleet managers on standards.
- Participate in steering committees within the corporation.
Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes)
- 10 years of hands-on safety management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including intermediate in MS Excel.
- Certifications required:
- ESCO
- CSP – Certified Safety Professional
- ASP – Associate Safety Professional
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or certifications with equivalent experience.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods: Occasionally
- Moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another: Constantly
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching: Rarely

- Seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as driving or operating equipment: Occasionally

- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like: Rarely
- Operating machinery and/or power tools: Rarely
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Occasionally
- The ability to travel regionally or nationally: Occasionally
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing: Constantly
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds: Occasionally
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds: Occasionally
- Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more: Rarely
- Low temperatures: Rarely
- High temperatures: Occasionally
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind: Occasionally
- Noisy environments: Occasionally
- Hazardous conditions: Rarely
- Shift work, to include overnight work: Never
