Berkshire Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a creative, experienced Director of Therapeutic Recreation to join our dynamic team. The Recreation Director will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a therapeutic recreation program that improves the quality of life for all residents.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create and implement recreational activities and programs.
Oversee team of activity coordinators
Ensure all documentation of resident care plans, recreation participation and progress is documented in accordance with NYS guidelines
Oversee coordination of transportation for residents to and from activities
Qualifications:
Must possess a bachelor degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapist, Music Therapy or similar applicable field
Experience in long-term/short term recreation programming
Knowledge of MDS/Care Planning
Knowledge of CMS/New York State regulations, including survey compliance
Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
A strong empathy with and commitment to helping the senior population
Ability to work efficiently across various departments
High-level of creativity, artistic ability and communication skills
