Lumicity is in partnership with a client seeking a skilled Director of Process Engineering. This role focuses on leading the Process Engineering team to enhance design, manufacturing, and testing processes, driving forward automation, efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elevate process efficiency to meet or exceed standard cost expectations.
- Reduce scrap and material usage variance to below 5%.
- Spearhead continuous improvement projects, targeting a 2% annual cost saving.
- Maintain or surpass OSHA safety standards.
- Lead projects aimed at increasing revenue, minimizing expenses, and optimizing business processes for better customer satisfaction.
- Innovate by applying new techniques and technologies to resolve challenges.
- Mentor team members on complex problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Provide technical leadership across the organization, enhancing existing and new processes.
- Ensure timely, cost-effective project progress, aligning with plans and objectives.
- Smoothly transition processes from development to commercialization.
- Offer expert process improvement advice to customers.
- Oversee design and development of new products, refining production techniques and testing procedures.
- Manage department budgeting and operational forecasting.
Talent Management:
- Deliver regular feedback, fostering a culture of success and professional development.
- Supervise and mentor Process Engineering team members, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, with a Master’s preferred.
- Over 10 years of engineering experience, including 3-5 years in management.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex information.
- PMP certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in project management, blueprint reading, GD&T, SPC, MSA, DOE, and advanced statistical and mathematical analysis.
- Experienced in injection molding, metal fabrication, and medical device manufacturing.
- Competent in Minitab and MS Office Suite.
