Summary

PlayCore is seeking a Director of Operations responsible for overseeing, developing, and executing all manufacturing strategies for the Aquatics Play Division.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Committed to improving and sustaining a Safety-First culture
  • Develop manufacturing, procurement, and engineering procedures to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies that align with the overall business plan
  • Establish and maintain dashboards / score cards for manufacturing, sourcing, procurement, and engineering functions to ensure that we meet or exceed our budgeted and forecasted obligations
  • Lead daily Gemba process to ensure Metrics are being met and/or Corrective Actions are being carried out
  • Formulate policies and procedures to guide the organization in maintaining and improving our competitive position in the marketplace
  • Train and develop associates to improve the overall bench strength of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Education And/or Experience

BA/BS in industrial, operations management or engineering or related discipline required

5-plus years of progressive manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations

Travel

10% or as required

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.

  • MRP/ERP experience a plus but not required

Other Requirements

  • Previous middle market company experience in a high growth company environment
  • Practical experience in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools and processes
  • Will have a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment
  • Requires broad technical or administrative experience in a manufacturing environment

Other Skills

  • Ideal candidate will be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently while achieving positive results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
  • Ability to communicate expectations, remove roadblocks and drive accountability
  • At least 5 years leadership experience in operations in middle market sized companies, 30+ employee base
  • Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
