Landings of Genesee Valley Assisted Living Facility in Flint is looking for our next Director of Nursing.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and wellbeing of the residents within the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to quality assurance and regulatory compliance; assisting in the recruiting, hiring and training of clinical staffing, scheduling and daily reviews of timekeeping reports. Also, responsible for team member engagement, performance management and evaluations.
Experience & Qualifications
Maintains current state license as a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations
Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse or LPN
Demonstration of competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage
Minimum one (1) year nursing management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management daily operations supervision, discipline and counseling
Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles and interests
Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations
Competent in organizational, time management skills
Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills
Ability to work weekends, evenings & flexible hours as needed for resident care/services, must be available to our customers at peak service times and as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Ensures that community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations and standards as it pertains to resident clinical care
Identifies on-going needs and services of residents through the assessment/Service Plan process
Ensures proper follow through and documentation for residents with a change in health care status
Responsible for clinical compliance of clinical expectations as well as other regulatory compliance
Participation in community awareness activities and community relations
Maintains communications with resident’s family and responsible party
Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting clinical indicators monthly and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans
Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with Risk Management and OSHA requirements
Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents
Responsible for infection control programming in community
Responsible for the safe and efficient distribution/administration of injections, nebulizers, moderate wound care per state regulations
Overall management of the department, including, but not limited to recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and disciplining
Conducts timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations
Holds critical team accountable, corrects actions when necessary and documents
Attends regular meetings Stand Up, Cross Over, Department Head Meetings, Town Hall, Quality Improvement, and others as directed by the Executive Director
