We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced Director of Meetings and Events to join our distinguished team. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of our Conference Services and Events team, from meticulous planning and dynamic sales to flawless execution. You will work closely with clients, ensuring their meetings and events are perfectly executed and surpass their expectations. The Director of Meetings and Events role requires a detailed and flexible individual, who is resolution oriented and customer focused. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective written communication are a must for this role.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in event planning or conference services, with at least 4 years in a leadership role within a luxury resort or hotel environment.
  • Luxury Standards: Proven experience in a AAA Five Diamond-rated property or equivalent, with a deep understanding of luxury service standards.
  • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to oversee those to exceed sales targets, with a track record of driving significant revenue growth.
  • Budget and Forecast Management: Expertise in creating and overseeing large-scale budgets, ensuring profitability, and managing revenue projections
  • Client Focus: Exceptional ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high-profile clients, ensuring personalized and impeccable service.
  • Communication Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and close complex contracts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-specific software, including Microsoft Office Suite and advanced catering/event management software.
  • Food and Beverage Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of current food and beverage trends, with the ability to curate bespoke menus.
  • Compliance and Safety: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and legal regulations pertaining to large-scale events and conferences.
  • Leadership and Development: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to train, develop, and inspire a team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every aspect of event planning and execution meets the highest standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global Experience: Experience working in a high-revenue luxury resort with a global clientele.
  • Industry Recognition: Recognized for Excellence in the industry, with awards or accolades from reputable organizations.
