About us

The North Dakota State University Foundation and Alumni Association creates opportunities to advance education, research, and service at the University. We work in close collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, along with businesses, different industries, and the community, to better understand and represent common interests. With the needs of the entire university in mind, we efficiently and effectively raise funds, manage assets, and administer other privately funded resources to stimulate continued development at NDSU. The Foundation achieves success by: •Partnering with the University community to deliver education at a higher level in new environments; •Building on its strong relationship with NDSU alumni and the Alumni Association; •Supporting the continuous improvement of the quality of an NDSU education, research, the University experience, and athletics; •Recognizing best practices in the spirit of collaboration with other higher learning institutions for the mutual benefit of all; •Working with the University to engage with state and local government, alumni, businesses, and industry communities to stimulate University advancement and economic development through visionary planning, innovation, and entrepreneurship; •Communicating effectively with donors and partners on relevant issues and our stewardship and recognizing them for their contributions; and •Increasing the visibility of the University and enhancing its image – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

At 5 foot 2 inches, former NDSU College of Engineering dean Joe Stanislao is small in stature, but big in ambition. A first-generation American born of Italian immigrants, Joe’s commitment to education led him to an impressive 57-year career at five different universities. Today NDSU leaders, state legislators, donors, community members and other NDSU supporters celebrated the significant milestones of the groundbreaking of the Bolley Agricultural Laboratory and the dedication of the Peltier Complex. The Bolley Agricultural Laboratory, named after pioneer Henry L. Bolley, will be one of the largest capital projects in NDSU history, supporting research in plant pathology, agronomy, soil science and more. Thanks to the $87 million from the North Dakota Legislature and $3.6 million in philanthropic funds, construction begins this summer. The Peltier Complex, a state-of-the-art facility, will enhance research and education in food science, meat science and related fields. This facility is made possible by a $70 million legislative appropriation and generous support from the Peltier family and other donors. Thank you to all who came to show their support today. These new facilities underscore NDSU's role as a leader in innovation and growth in agriculture, the state's largest economic sector. 🌾🚜 #NDSUAgriculture #ResearchUniversity NDSU Foundation NDSU Agriculture

"MBA student Cam Landis ’24 is the Jim and Cheri Buus Venture Capitalist Fellow. Coming to NDSU for his MBA after an undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, Cam had academic experience with business and entrepreneurship concepts and wanted to test his theories. 'I’ve met people, whether it’s local business leaders or students, that I would have never met,' Cam said of his opportunities in the Possibility Fellowship program. 'I don’t know that … if you were going to try to get on the phone with somebody who is in a position of authority in a business in Philadelphia, that they would really take you seriously. [B]ut here we have not been turned down for a single meeting.' The naturally entrepreneurial spirit of Fargo makes it an ideal setting for these connections between students and business leaders." In the most recent issue of the NDSU Foundation magazine you can learn about the cutting-edge research being done by the Richard and Linda Offerdahl Faculty Fellow, Barney A. Geddes and his lab. Their research is looking at harnessing the power of nitrogen-fixing bacteria to help farmers cut costs and reduce harmful environmental effects of nitrogen use. This exciting research was fast-tracked thanks to the generous support of Richard ’65 and Linda Offerdahl whose investment established the faculty fellowship in the NDSU Microbiological Sciences and Biotechnology Department.
