The Position

The Director, Human Resources, will function as the HR leader for the US and will partner with the leadership team to support the growth, employee engagement, employee relations, and overall organizational health of OPSWAT - Americas. We are growing fast and are searching for a creative leader with experience implementing and leading HR and people operations initiatives to support a hyper-growth technology company.

This is an in-office position based in our global corporate HQ in Tampa; you will be instrumental in helping us continue creating a collaborative in-office environment with stronger relationships and cultural integration to embody and invigorate OPSWAT’s culture.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Function as the HR and people operations leader for the Americas. Start up, tech, dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Continue to develop and implement HR policy and initiatives for OPSWAT Americas and champion our employee engagement and employee relations initiatives.
  • Sense of urgency, adaptive to change, implement changes and be able to shift priorities quickly.
  • Continue to build HR policies and procedures.
  • Leverage internal and external data to support executive and senior leadership decision-making.
  • Support annual people agenda initiatives (Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, etc.).
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to senior leaders (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other HR partners across the geographics to drive consistent global HR practices.
  • Continuously refine and improve the onboarding experience to ensure it is engagement and effective for new employees.
  • Manage a small HR and Talent Acquisition team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience leading HR. Must have experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth (or start-up) technology company – leading all HR initiatives.
  • Experience in implementing large-scale HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and at varying levels in the organization.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, and employee engagement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing US HR operations in a multi-site organization.
  • Team leadership experience and demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and the ability to adapt to shifts in business priorities.
  • Analyze data and create a narrative to drive organizational transformation.
  • Be a very hands-on manager with the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Occasional travel could be required.
