The Director of HSE (health, safety, and environmental) is responsible for Deep Well Services Health, Safety, and Environmental Program management, team, and ongoing development of new policy, procedure, and initiative to ensure highest level of safety for workers and the public, and compliance with all federal, state, and local industry standards.

Duties

Provide guidance, leadership, and recommended strategies to mitigate risk, and maintain DWS as a leader in safety, service quality, and operational excellence.

Daily management oversight, support, and mentorship of Safety team including direct reports (Regional HSE Managers) and Field Safety Managers.

Research, evaluate, and incorporate new technology, techniques, and procedures to maintain DWS as a leader in safety innovation and continual improvement.

Work cross functionally and engage with multiple departments, leaders, and teams to take an active role in promotion of Deep Well Services safety program and culture.,

Generate effective and scalable solutions that align with department and organizational HSQE goals and objectives.

Maintain and report current and accurate injury, illness, and incident data and analytics.

Improve accuracy and accessibility for critical HSE, incident, and human performance data to proactively mitigate risks and prevent safety and operational incidents.

Lead critical HSE and related operational initiatives, committees, and task forces and drive accountability for successful execution.

Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE performance reports to leadership and key stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local industry and jurisdiction regulations (including reporting) related to Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.

Represent DWS in a positive, collaborative, and professional manner when presenting relevant materials, initiatives, incidents, etc. to key audiences including but not limited to customers, stakeholders, strategic partners, and industry affiliates.

Other critical tasks and job duties as directed by manager and leadership.

Position Details

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Status: Full-time

Amount of Travel Required: 50%

Direct Reports: Regional HSE Managers (Appalachia, Permian, Haynesville).

Reports to: Vice President of Operational Excellence.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, due to the nature of the business, weekend and evening hours may be necessary on occasion.

Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Managment, Business, or Engineering

Experience: 7-10 years in the oil and gas industry or related work history

Professional Certificates: Preferred, not required

Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, meet minimum driving requirements for company insurance purposes and successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and, if applicable, a physical.
