Job Overview:

Cascada Spa and Hotel is a premier boutique luxury hotel and hydrothermal spa, offering luxurious accommodations and exceptional wellness experiences. Our LEED Platinum-certified complex emphasizes sustainability in all aspects of its operations. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Housekeeping to oversee all cleanliness and hygiene operations within our property, with a particular emphasis on our hydrothermal spa, indoor and outdoor public spaces, and sustainable practices. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, sustainability, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management:
• Lead and supervise the housekeeping team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
• Operations and Quality Control:
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, outdoor spaces, and back-of-house spaces are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
• Manage all operations of in-house laundry department.
• Implement and monitor housekeeping procedures, schedules, and checklists to maintain consistency and efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, outdoor spaces, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Inventory and Budget Management:
• Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Develop and manage the housekeeping budget, controlling costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relationships to ensure the best prices and service.
• Guest Satisfaction:
• Address and resolve guest complaints and requests promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and address any housekeeping-related issues.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Train staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures.
• Sustainability:
• Implement and promote eco-friendly practices within the housekeeping department.
• Identify opportunities for waste reduction and energy conservation.
• Uphold the hotel’s LEED Platinum certification standards in all housekeeping operations.
  

Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, spa, or wellness-focused property is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in housekeeping management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Education:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
