Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced hands-on FP&A Director who will be responsible for the FP&A function responsible for monthly P&L and cashflow reporting as well as the Budget and dynamic forecasting process. Success in this role requires attention to detail with excellent collaboration and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that offers rewarding challenges.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning - Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals and work closely with senior management to formulate strategic plans.

Budgeting - Oversee the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts.

Financial Analysis - Analyze financial performance and provide insights on variances to budgets and forecasts, conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, including profitability analysis, cashflow and ROI calculations.

Reporting - Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Forecasting - Lead the forecasting process, providing regular updates and adjustments based on actual performance and market conditions.

Team Leadership - Lead and manage the FP&A team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Stakeholder Communication - Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders, including executives, board members, and department heads. Serve as a key liaison between finance and other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Process Improvement - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function. Leverage technology and tools to streamline financial planning and analysis processes.

Special Projects - Lead or participate in special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.

Excellent understanding of financial principles, including GAAP

Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial planning software.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, at an executive and board level.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Bonus Experience

• Experience in the medical or tech industry is a plus
• Experience working with Sage’s Intact, Brex Empower and Lease Query is a plus

Salary range: $130,000 to $160,000 annually - depending on location
