Job Title: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for a PE-Backed Company


East 57th Street Partners is currently on the lookout for a dynamic and insightful Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on behalf of one of our premier clients. This key role is a full-time opportunity perfect for a finance professional who excels in advanced financial analysis, strategic planning, and leadership within a private equity-backed setting. The Director of FP&A will be instrumental in guiding the financial strategy and ensuring robust financial planning and analysis to support the company's growth and value creation initiatives.


Role Overview:

As a vital member of the executive leadership team, the Director of FP&A will oversee the company's FP&A functions, including budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will blend strategic insight with analytical prowess, demonstrating a track record of improving financial performance and strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Direct and enhance the financial analysis functions, providing deep insights into business performance, opportunities for improvement, and strategic investment.
  • Play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making, offering financial insights and analysis on mergers, acquisitions, investments, and other critical business initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, facilitating informed decision-making across the company.
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to understand departmental financial needs and goals, integrating them into the broader company financial strategy.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, investors, and analysts, to support the company’s strategic financial objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the FP&A team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Director of FP&A role, or similar, within a complex and dynamic organization, with a successful track record in financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong grasp of financial principles, analytics, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a strategic context.
  • Excellent skills in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting with proficiency in financial management software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize financial data to make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • BSc/BA in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field; MSc/MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA or CFA) preferred.
