Director of Development

We are hiring a Director of Development (Multifamily), on behalf of our client, a leading, national multifamily developer and operator, ranked Top Workplace by NMHC (National Multifamily Housing Council). Our client is well capitalized and positioned for continued success and growth across the country.

The Director of Development will:

• Partner with a cross-functional team to determine project strategy
• Manage due diligence, entitlements and permitting
• Lead negotiations directly with municipalities
• Collaborate with external partners
• Oversee development activities of multiple developments in different stages
• Report into Senior Development Director

Key requirements:

• 5-7 years of multifamily or Build to Rent development experience
• Client would prefer all team members relocate near home office in Wisconsin but are also open to a remote work schedule for interested candidates living near Chicago
• Chicagoland candidates will be expected to commute to MKE/Home Office 2x/week for first year
• Highly effective communication and collaboration skills
