Organization Overview - Entryway is a national 501(c)3 organization that transitions individuals and families out of homelessness to economic self-sufficiency by providing career training, employment, and housing opportunities in partnership with the multifamily real estate industry. 

Position Overview – This position is a new role for Entryway and is a critical one for the organization. Are you a creative and collaborative self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial fundraising setting where you are building the plane while flying it? The ideal candidate will have experience managing strategic relationships with corporate partners, individual donors and grant makers. In their role, the Director of Development will work across the organization to support the successful execution of a fundraising plan to support national operations. As the Director of Development, your duties and responsibilities will primarily include the following, but other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Strategy & Execution

• Successfully execute a fundraising plan for Entryway’s national team through development and implementation of a strategy for long-term corporate partnerships, foundation grants and individual major gift opportunities for program support and general operations with oversight and input from Senior Vice President of External Affairs and support from the Marketing and Development Manager.

Portfolio Management

• Manage a portfolio of existing corporate partners.
• Develop new leads and new revenue from corporate partners
• Lead and maintain strategic framework for donor recognition and stewardship.
• Execute strategy to increase annual fund, major/high net worth donors, corporate partnerships, and foundation grant opportunities.
• Help identify and build a pipeline of new funder prospects.

Team Collaboration

• Support the day-to-day operations of development for the national team.
• Drive collaboration between Marketing and Development Manager, National Partnerships Manager, Director of Programs and Operations and local Executive Directors to ensure seamless and inclusive grants management.
• Build rapport and trust with members of the National Board to steward contacts and leads for philanthropic support.

Grant Proposals & Reports

• Craft grant proposals that represent the mission and values of Entryway.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Development Manager, National Program Team and when required local staff to successfully achieve new grant opportunities.

Professionalism and Teamwork

• Support interdepartmental collaboration, and contribute to a culture of transparency, teamwork, openness to suggestions, and constructive criticism.
• Convey professionalism and excellence through virtual, in-person, written and verbal communications with high-level donors and prospects.
• Utilize sound judgment and the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information regarding Entryway donor information.
• Strong commitment to excellence in the delivery of external facing collateral, proposals, reports.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with excellence in cultivation and stewardship of donors.

Qualifications and Education

• BA/BS’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of years of related work experience.
• Fluency in Microsoft Suite of Programs, with high competency in Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, with strong eye for detail, and a thoughtful, analytical approach to managing complex tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in donor management CRMs
• Experience working with C-suite level management and Board members
