Follow-Up Friday: Celebrating 3 Years with James and Autism Assistance Dog 🐾 Taylor! Today, we’re celebrating a heartwarming milestone - James and AAD Taylor’s 3-year follow-up! Erin, James' mom, shares how thankful she is for the bond James and Taylor share. She often refers to Taylor as James' 'doggy sister' because of their incredible connection. Taylor is always by James' side, whether they’re reading comics, drawing, or just hanging out. Taylor is currently working on skills like squish, visit, settle, and place, making her an indispensable part of the family. Erin expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors of Dogs for Better Lives. She said, “Our family could never have saved enough for a dog that helps James like Taylor does. Knowing that someone donated to support families like ours feels so emotional and special. James has a best friend because of you, and we are incredibly grateful.” Congratulations to James and Taylor on three wonderful years together! Here’s to many more happy moments and milestones. Thank you to our donors for making stories like this possible #dbl #dogsforbetterlives #assistancedog #assistancedogintraining #servicedog #servicedogintraining #servicedogsofinstagram #followupfriday

As we celebrate Independence Day tomorrow, let's remember to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable. Fireworks and festivities can be overwhelming for pets, so here are a few tips to ensure a stress-free holiday: 🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks. 🐾 Create a quiet, safe space with their favorite toys and blankets. 🐾 Make sure they have proper identification in case they get scared and run away. 🐾 Avoid giving them food scraps that might be harmful. #assistancedogs #assistancedogsintraining #servicedogs #servicedogsintraining #servicedogsofinstagram #petsafety #4thofJuly

Follow Up Friday: Mackenzie and Facility Dog 🐾 Archie’s Amazing Year Together! It’s been a year since Mackenzie and FD Archie teamed up, and what a fantastic journey it has been! Everyone at Central Washington University, the station, and every other place they visit loves seeing Archie. One of Mackenzie’s favorite parts of being a Facility Dog handler is the incredible relationships she’s built thanks to Archie. Being in law enforcement can sometimes be a barrier, but Archie’s friendly presence breaks down those walls. A highlight from the past year? The theatre group on campus invited Archie just to sing him Happy Birthday as a group! Moments like these make Mackenzie’s heart swell with joy. Mackenzie has also loved watching Archie’s goofy side come out and his bond grow with her other pets. Archie’s skills in lap, settle, place, and greetings have been impressive and heartwarming to witness. Mackenzie wishes she could share every daily interaction to show DBL donors the immense impact Archie has on everyone he meets. He always brings smiles and brightens days. Mackenzie is deeply thankful for Archie and the support from DBL that has made this wonderful program possible. Here’s to many more smiles, wagging tails, and happy moments ahead! #dbl #dogsforbetterlives #assistancedog #assistancedogintraining #servicedog #servicedogintraining #servicedogsofinstagram #followupfriday

LAST CHANCE for our Summer Match! Facility Dog Lander works alongside school psychologist Jessica in Portland, Oregon. Every day, this sweet Golden Retriever provides a calming presence and support for the elementary school students.
