Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Life, the Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for all aspects of recreational sports and fitness programming and services for the campus community. This includes strategic planning, supervision of specific program areas, budget management and assessment. The Director works collaboratively with campus entities to provide an inclusive, engaging and safe environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
Plan, organize and manage a comprehensive recreation program for the campus community. Program areas of emphasis include intramural and club sports, fitness and wellness, facility management, special events and student development
Develop strategies to maintain and increase student engagement
Supervise, mentor and evaluate professional and student staff
Administrative duties include budget preparation and management, generation of annual reports, creation of annual goals and objectives, student satisfaction assessment and participation on various committees
Develop health and wellness initiatives within the scope of Campus Recreation
Actively collaborate with university partners
Regular, predictable attendance on campus
Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap
Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned
Minimum of five years of professional experience in collegiate recreation.
Bachelor’s degree
Masters degree in recreation, sport management, higher education or related field strongly preferred
