Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Director of Business Development to scale our business by working with hyperscale data center customers to develop long-term business relationships and commercial agreements that enable critical data center infrastructure. In this role, you will work directly with the world’s largest technology companies to originate, structure, and negotiate long-term lease agreements for critical infrastructure.


The successful candidate has experience developing long-term customer relationships built on trust and structuring long-term agreements for customized IT infrastructure. The right candidate has deep commercial and data center expertise.


Travel

Ability to travel up to 30% for company gatherings and meetings with customers.


Location

Preference for candidates located in the Denver, CO, Seattle, WA, or San Francisco, CA areas. Remote candidates are considered in some cases.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Originate and structure commercial agreements for hyperscale data centers.
  • Negotiate agreements that result in the best outcomes for our customers and Rowan.
  • Partner with colleagues developing sites to support lease negotiations, creating a ‘whole of company’ approach to delivering projects with buy-in early in the process.
  • Develop partnerships with our customers by working backward from industry pain points to develop custom solutions.
  • Build the business case for transactions and present it to C-Suite.


Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, business, construction management, real estate).
  • Master of Business Administration (Preferred)
  • At least five (5) years of experience working to develop commercial agreements that support the development of critical infrastructure, including data centers.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating long-term leases, tolling agreements, or similar that support site-specific and bespoke infrastructure projects.
  • Preferred: Experience working for or with hyperscale data center customers, including co-location and cloud companies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong organizational skills, comfort with ambiguity, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment.
